Clinician review pending Updated

Step by step

  1. Step 1Inject under the skin of your stomach (at least 2 inches from the belly button), front of the thigh, or back of the upper arm (best done by someone else).
  2. Step 2Rotate the injection site every week.
  3. Step 3Use it any time of day, with or without meals, on the same day each week.
  4. Step 4Single-dose vials need a separate syringe and needle; ask your pharmacist to show you the technique.

Timing

You can change your weekly injection day as long as the last dose was at least 3 days (72 hours) earlier.

Take the missed dose as soon as possible within 4 days (96 hours). If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day.

Eating while you take it

Smaller meals, stopping when you're full and going easy on greasy foods can help with nausea. Make protein the first part of each meal: find your protein floor.
