Mounjaro how to take it

How Mounjaro is taken, once weekly, in plain steps from the label.

Clinician review pending Updated

Step by step

  1. Step 1Inject under the skin of the stomach, thigh or upper arm, rotating sites weekly.
  2. Step 2Use it on the same day each week, any time of day, with or without food.
  3. Step 3If you also use insulin, inject them separately; you can use the same body area but not right next to each other.

Timing

You can change your weekly injection day as long as the last dose was at least 3 days (72 hours) earlier.

Take the missed dose as soon as possible within 4 days (96 hours). If more than 4 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day.

Eating while you take it

Smaller meals, stopping when you're full and going easy on greasy foods can help with nausea. Make protein the first part of each meal: find your protein floor.
